Washburn Rural’s JV and varsity baseball teams will host a game against Emporia at home on Friday, April 10, with the first game scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
The JV team will take the field first as they open play against Emporia. Coaches will look for consistent hitting, solid defense, and good effort throughout the game. It will also be an opportunity for players to gain experience early in the season. Following the JV matchup, the varsity team will play. The team will focus on pitching, defense, and execution at the plate. Upperclassmen are expected to help lead and keep the team focused during the game.
Both teams will use the games to see where they stand and what they need to improve. So don’t forget to come out to the Home fields of your Washburn Rural Baseball team to watch and support your local Blues.
