On Friday, May 3rd, the Washburn Rural Girls Varsity Swim Team won the Topeka City Swim Meet for the 21st time in a row.
The Lady Blue took first place among 7 schools including De Soto, Independence, Whichita Collegiate, Emporia, Whichita Independent, Field Kinley, and Labette Highschool. The Lady Blues won first place with staggering 527 points. Beating second place De Soto by 153 points.
With the help of honor roll swimmers such as Audrey Appuhn with a 2:00.39 200 yard freestyle and a 2:12.08 200 yard indivudal medley. Along with the help of Rhiannon Goods 239.90 one-meter diving and Natalee Graubergers 197.80 one meter diving.
The Washburn Rural Gurls Varsity Swim Team puts themselves in a good situation in the upcoming state meat so make sure you wish our lady blue luck as they go to state May 16th-18th.
