Washburn Rural High School hosted a school-wide assembly on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, to honor and recognize Veterans Day. This special event paid tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The AFJROTC Cadet Corps of WRHS took the lead in conducting the ceremony, guiding students in a meaningful program that reflects respect, gratitude, and patriotism as we recognize the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.
Veterans Day is important because it honors all who have served in the U.S. armed forces acknowledging their patriotism, courage, and sacrifices. Unlike Memorial Day, which honors those who died in service, Veterans Day specifically thanks living veterans and remembers all who have served, both in times of war and peace. Veterans day reminds people of the cost of peace and the value of service. It encourages people to show gratitude toward those who have risked their lives for others.
