The National Honor Society (NHS) at Washburn Rural High School will host a blood drive on Monday, Nov. 11, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Design/ Think Area. The event is open to students, teachers, and community members who want to help others by donating blood.
Students who are 16 years or older can sign up to donate. Sixteen year olds need a signed parent permission form, while students 18 and older can donate without one. National Honors Society members will have a sign up table during lunch, and walk-ins will also be accepted if time allows. Donors should eat a good breakfast, drink lots of water, and bring a photo ID to their appointment.
The National Honors Society hopes for a great turnout this year. “Every donation matters,” said an NHS officer. “Giving blood is an easy way to help save lives and make a difference in our community.”
