For this week’s Student Spotlight we have decided to focus on our varsity volleyball team . We have chosen to interview senior, Ava Fowler. 

• What has been your favorite part about being on the Washburn Rural volleyball team?
  • “My favorite part about being on the volleyball team is having a group of girls who all like each other and get along.”
• What do you think will be your team’s biggest obstacle this year?
  • “Our biggest obstacle this year is ourselves. I think that we can and will achieve way more if we can just believe in ourselves and our capabilities.”
• How would you describe your motivation for 2023’s season?
  • “Our biggest motivation this year is proving to ourselves that we are capable of this same outcome as last year. We got a taste of what winning state was like last year, and we all want to be in that same spot again.”
• Looking back on your past volleyball seasons, what has been one of your favorite memories from school volleyball?
  • “Looking back I would say last year was my favorite volleyball season. Being able to play at that level with that group of girls was really awesome.”
• Do you have any further plans for your career in volleyball?
  • “I do not plan on playing volleyball in the future, but I am looking forward to helping coach a team this winter.”
