Winter Formal is coming up fast starting with the crowning ceremony which is held at the Washburn Rural High School Activities Center, on February 3, between the girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball games.

The candidates for Queen and King of courts are:

Falling at the end of winter, the theme is Winter Wonderlands for formal so wear your best suits and dresses As this is Winter Formal, the appropriate attire is formal attire. Street or casual clothing would not be appropriate for this event.

The dance will be held at the Sunflower Ballroom at Hotel Topeka at City Center (1717 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66612), on February 4, 8-11 pm. Students will be able to request songs at the dance and are given the option to do so via a Google form (found on the posters around the school, and on social media).

Students may also request songs at the dance, but nothing is guaranteed because it depends on what the DJ has access to at the time of the dance.
