WRHS Cheer Squad and Dancin’ Blues compete at State

Last Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19, the Washburn Rural High School cheer squad and dance team competed in the KSHSAA Game Day Spirit Competition.

On Friday the Dancin’ Blues took their turn on the floor defending last year’s state championship against 6A schools from around the state. With another strong performance, the Dancin’ Blues finished the day with a second place finish just behind Mill Valley.

Not to be out-done the WRHS cheer squad took to the competition floor on Saturday. They too delivered a strong performance, finishing second, defeating last year’s state champion Blue Valley Northwest but falling just behind Blue Vally High School.
