Fall sports come to an end

With the Washburn Rural football team losing to Derby on November 11, fall sports for the ’22-’23 school year has come to a close. All fall sports saw great levels of success with no exceptions.

The Football team concluded its season as Regional champions and Sectional runner-ups. The Girls’ Golf team capped off their season finishing fourth at the state tournament while the Girls’ Tennis team finished the season as Regional champs.

Boys’ Soccer finished fourth in state, the Cross Country girls’ team finished third in state, and Boys’ Cross Country finished 10th in state.

As great as every team did this fall season, no team could top the Girls’ Volleyball team. The girls had a historic season under Head Coach Kevin Bordewick going 45-1 and winning the State Title.
