Student Profile; Ty Stead

Hadlie Brady and Mia Taggart

First up for Soccer we have chosen to interview player Ty stead, our starting Midfield.

  • What has been your favorite part about being on the Washburn Rural soccer team?
    • “My favorite part of being on the team has been building relationships and playing in the big games over the years.”
  • Who do you think will be your teams biggest obstacle this year?
    • “Getting the freshman and newcomers into the fast, physical, action of a varsity game will be a bit of a challenge but when they do step up we should be a solid team.”
  • How would you described the whole teams motivation for 2022’s season?
    • “We lost in the state final last year and in the 3rd place game the year before so I believe we are using those losses as motivation in the upcoming season.”
  • Looking back on your past Soccer seasons, what has been one of your favorite memories from school soccer?
    • “Even though we lost I would say playing in the state final was one of my favorite memories, it was an experience I will never forget.”
  • Do you have any further plans for your career in soccer?
    • “I’m very undecided at the moment whether I will play soccer in college or not but if the offers come I will probably accept one of them.”

After hearing from Ty it looks like we will be having a good season overall. Be sure to attend the games and cheer our student athletes on!
