2022 NFL Playoffs

The NFL playoffs kicked off with a Home Alone matchup with Joe Burrow  and the Cincinnati Bengals defeating Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders 26-19.

The higher seeds won every game in the wild card round with the exception of the six seed San Francisco 49ers defeating the third seeded Dallas Cowboys, 23-17.

The  Divisional round, however, did not go as expected. Both of the number one seeds fell. Even with King Henry’s return, the Tennessee Titans fell to the legendary Joe Burrow and the Bengals 19-16. The MVP favorite Aaron Rodgers lost to the 49ers on a Robbie Gould game winning field goal ,13-10.

The game of the year may have gone to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs when they defeated Gabe Davis and the Buffalo Bills in overtime 42-36.

A week later, in the AFC Championship Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase came back from an 18-3 deficit against the Chiefs to win 27-24 giving us an iconic picture from Joe and Ja’marr’s dads after the game. In the NFC, Mathew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams defeated Deebo Samuel and the 49ers, 20-17.

That meant the competitors for Super Bowl LVI (56) are the veteran-led Los Angeles Rams, playing in their own stadium, against the young core of the Cincinnati Bengals.

In the Super Bowl, the game MVP Cooper Cupp caught the game winning touchdown pass on Cornerback Eli Apple. The game ended with the Rams winning 23-20. After the game there was speculation that Rams DT Aaron Donald would be retiring.

After the NFC Championship games, we all had to say farewell to Tom Brady who announced his retirement February 1, 2022. In the height of some of the greatest games and story lines, everything in the NFL stopped at the announcement. It was so big that the Pro Bowl Skills challenge went basically unnoticed because all that was being talked about was the G.O.A.T leaving the game after 22 hard fought successful seasons in the National Football League
