DeLeye selected as Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year

Washburn Rural High School junior Brooklyn DeLeye has been selected as the 2021 Gatorade Kansas Volley Player of the Year. Gatorade uses the award to recognize the nation’s best high school athletes. 

In her first three years at Washburn Rural DeLeye has earned First Team All-State selection each season as well as setting the school record for kills with 1,633.

This past season DeLeye had 586 kills along with 259 digs. She also accumulated 133 service aces, 38 assists and 26 blocks while posting a .563 kill percentage and a .438 hitting percentage.

Even though DeLeye still has her senior season ahead of her, she verbally committed this fall to Kentucky University.
