This year’s 2025 girls’ and boys’ bowling team ran the show at regionals, Wednesday, Feb. 26. Both teams came in ready to bowl and took first place at Gage Bowl. This meet will lead them to the state bowling meet to finish off their season. This year’s senior bowlers going to state are Elizabeth Poling, Logan Glinka, Tyler Faurot, and Ashley Billups, competing in their last meet being a part of Washburn Rural High School.
Elizabeth Poling, who recently signed to the University of Central Missouri to carry on her bowling career, explains to The Blue Streak her intake on state this year and what it is like to be an upperclassman, ¨I am so excited to go to state! At regionals, we put up our highest score as a team this year and all of us are excited to keep that going at state! I’ve gone to state my sophomore and junior year but this feels more exciting. I’m ready to give it my all and enjoy the last meet with my team. It is so cool being someone that the underclassman can look up to, I love mentoring and helping as much as possible. I’ve made a lot of friends with the new freshman girls this year. They’re all so sweet and I’m looking forward to watching them grow throughout the years. Advice I would give would be to keep with it! Bowling is such a mental sport but there will be much more rewarding days ahead. Lean on your teammates and grow together.¨
Logan Glinka, who recently committed to Baker University to further his bowling career, mentions,¨ I’m beyond excited for the state meet this year. I feel confident in myself and the rest of the team’s abilities and believe we will be able to hold our own against the best. As the only returners who have been to the state meet, Tyler, Cody, and I will have to lead the others and help them stay calm and focus on their bowling. My advice would be to relax have fun and simply enjoy the moment.¨
Support your Junior Blues bowling team, girls and boys, while they hit the road to state this Friday, March 6, in Wichita, Kansas. They worked all season to get to where they are today. The girls bowl in the morning and the boys in the afternoon.
