On January 30, the Washburn Rural bowling team heads off to Wichita, Kansas, for the Great Plains tournament held at Bowlero North Rock. This tournament, which is hosted by Wichita Heights High School, consists of only girls’ and boys’ varsity bowlers with 30 teams participating.
The girls start bowling around 9 a.m., and they just finished their three games as individuals. Baker games are right after and that the whole team is part of. Sophomore Megan Glinka bowled a 713 series, making her the top girls’ varsity bowler in individuals. This is her second year on the Washburn Rural bowling team, and she is doing an outstanding job.
The varsity boys bowl tomorrow, February 1, and will bowl individuals at 9 a.m. and bowl baker right after. Show your support and cheer on your Washburn Rural bowling team as they get closer to the state championship.
