Washburn Rural AFJROTC won their fifth consecutive math in the 2024 National Sporter Air Rifle League, defeating Battle Ground AFJROTC with a score of 949.8 to 893.0. Nick Fewell led Washburn with a score of 250.0.
Both teams qualified for the 2025 Distinguished Division. The league consists of an eight week regular season and a postseason, with the top eight teams competing in a single elimination tournament for the championship.
The competition uses a Three Position Air Rifle math format, where athletes shoot 10 shots in three positions (kneeling, prone, standing), with a maximum score of 10.9 points per shot. The ending team score is based on the top four athletes’ scores
