Last week Washburn Rural High School held a week long celebration of its 2024 homecoming, Wizard of Oz.
This year’s spirit week incorporated many events similar to past years including a door decorating contest, daily dress-up themes, the parade and a dance. Events were planned by STUCO with help from many different school organizations.
During halftime of the football game, seniors Bodie King and Molly Worley were crowned this year’s king and queen.
The week came to an end with the traditional homecoming dance, but with a slight twist. This year’s dance was held in the high school’s new Innovation Center. This was the first official student event to be held in the new space.
