For this week’s student spotlight we interviewed senior Ma’Ryah Lutz on the girls basketball team going to state this season.

  • When did you start basketball?
    • “I started playing basketball in kindergarten.”
  • Describe what it felt like to go to state with your team?
    • “It was really fun. It felt like going on a trip with my family.”
  • What do you believe was one of the teams strengths at state?
    • “Our connection was a huge strength. We know how each other played and what we do. We stayed within ourselves.”
  • Are you wanting to further your basketball career in college?
    • “Unfortunately I’m not playing basketball in college. I decided to focus on academics.”
  • Do you have any pre-game rituals?
    • At home games, I always have to tear off the old film on the shoe grip pad and stuff it in the trash in a specific hole in the score table. Last time I didn’t, we lost.”
