Student Profile; Raegan Petersen

Hadlie Brady and Mia Taggart

For this week’s Student Spotlight we have decided to focus on our girls’ fall sports. For golf we have chosen to interview player Raegan Petersen.

  • What has been your favorite part about being on the Washburn Rural golf team?

    • “I have really enjoyed just being with the team. Car rides to tournaments, practices, and team dinners are definitely highlights.”

  • Who do you think will be your team’s biggest obstacle this year?

    • “I think living up to last year is going to be hard.”

  • How would you describe the whole team’s motivation for 2022 season?

    • “I think for the returners it comes down to how last year ended. Losing on the last day of state when you were ahead after the first day was really hard.”

  • Looking back on your past golf seasons, what has been one of your favorite memories from school golf?

    • “It is hard to pick just one, but I think my favorite would be eating dinner after day 1 of state. It was a mixture of being excited after winning day 1, and being with the team having fun.”

  • Do you have any further plans for your career in golf?

    • “I hope to play in college, but nothing is for sure yet.”
