Sports Recap 2/21-2/25

This week in sports, the basketball regular season came to a close, the wrestling teams took on state, and the bowling teams competed in the Regional Tournament.
On Tuesday the girls and boys basketball team played at Junction City for their 2nd to last regular season game. The Lady Blues dominated 61-14, Zoe Canfield led them with 19 points. The boys had a hard fight but fell short to the Blue Jays, 40-53. Jack Bachelor led the team with 13 points. The girls and boys team went to Highland Park on Febuary 25th to compete in their last regular season game. The Lady Blues won 61-21 and the boys lost 46-57. Girls Substate starts on March 1st followed by the boys on March 2nd.
The Washburn Rural wrestling teams were in Park City for their State Tournament. The girls team got 2nd in the State tournament. Addi Broxterman was the only girls wrestler to compete in the finals and she placed 2nd. The boys wrestling team won the State Championship. Aidan Boline and Austin Fager both place first in their weight classes.
Washburn Rural girls and boys bowling team competed in their Regional Championship at Topeka-West Ridge Lanes on Febuary 25th, the girls team are able to qualified for State.
