Last Man Standing Review

Emily Hoopes, Writer

Last Man Standing is a TV series that originally aired on ABC in 2011 and continued showings until 2017. For six seasons this sitcom was the watched by many people and even was named the second-highest rated sitcom on ABC for two years.

The show follows business owner Mike Baxter, played by Tim Allen, and displays the life he lives with three daughters, his wife and taking care of his grandson along the way. As more and more episodes came out many people got used to the way things were.

However, many were shocked to hear about the cancellation of the show in 2017. Even with a writer like Jack Burditt, who has won Emmys for his work on screen.

Within a year of cancellation the show was picked back up again by Fox Television to start the seventh season of Last Man Standing. The first episode was re-aired on September 28th.

As many things were the same, there was one character that had changed appearance. Mandy Baxter, one of the daughters, has been re-casted and replaced with Molly McCook, who is drastically different looking than the previous Mandy. With a tall stature and blonde hair she is quite the opposite of the short brunette all fans have known before.

With quite the amount of backlash due to the character replacement, McCook insist that she will make Mandy her own and become the new Mandy everyone loves.

The first episode aired on Fox was full a sly comments to ABC proving they made a mistake as the show skyrocketed to the top of chart and is loved by so many once again. In my opinion there is many similarities between previous and recent, but as the season progress I am sure clear differences will rise.
