Disney Movies Review
October 25, 2018
If you know me you know I am a big animated movie fan. I will go see just about any new movie that comes out no matter how tacky it is. I love the creativity that comes along with animated movies. Over the last few years I feel that Disney and Pixar have outdone themselves. Almost every movie I have seen I have enjoyed but I want to focus on one of my favorites.
One of my absolute favorites would have to be “Inside Out”. This movie came out in 2015 and captured the heart of all ages. It follows young Riley’s move from Minnesota to San Francisco. Her life is flipped upside down by this move. The viewer get to watch the movie from Riley’s eyes because most of the main characters are her emotions. Sadness, Joy, Anger, Disgust and Fear are shown in character form. The main conflict for the emotions come when Joy is trying to keep a core memory from Sadness and they get sent through a tube to long term memory. They then have to figure out how to get back to headquarters whole Anger, Disgust, and Fear try to keep Riley happy. Not exactly the emotions you would in charge of a young girl’s happiness. While Sadness and Joy are trying to find their way back they run in to Bing Bong. Bing Bong was Riley’s imaginary friend when she was younger and he is a mixture of a lot of animals, he also cries candy. Bing Bong tries to help them get back to headquarters but ultimately gets himself and Joy stuck in the memory dump. The memory dump is where memories are forgotten. He helps Joy get out but has to sacrifice himself to do so. Riley achieves an immense amount of growth by momentarily losing Joy and Sadness. This event also helps her emotions learn to work together better.
The next two years will be big years for Disney. Along with brand new movies, there will be sequels, and remakes of old movies. Most of the remakes will be live action rather than animated so it will be interesting to see how Disney makes that work. Below is a list of movies that have been announced to hit theaters by the end of 2019.
