The 2025 football season is starting up quickly this week with the first game being on Friday September fourth. The game will be played at Shawnee Heights against the Thunderbirds who seem to be a city rival this season.
The Shawnee Heights students have already created a strong rivalry between us by making shirts that say “Beat Rural”. Because of this, fans should expect an exciting and intense game Friday night.
The Thunderbirds will not be our only lively game this season. Rural’s schedule consists of eight games against strong competitors. The home games being against Blue Valley, Platte County, Topeka High, and Manhattan. The away games are at Shawnee Heights, Blue Valley Northwest, Emporia, and Junction City. The Homecoming game is on Friday, October third against Topeka High, and the theme will be black out.
