This week, WRHS students should get an email about voting for class president in their grade. The class president elections are held by STUCO. The class presidents will be leaders within their grade, help plan events within the school community, communicate and make relationships with other students.
The first step in the election process is students will receive an email in their advisory classes, and information that will be sent out on social media. Students may submit an application to be put on the ballot. Once the applications have been received and verified by the Student Council, the candidates will be notified, and their names will be placed on the ballot. Every student will receive an email with a Google form attached that will allow them to put their top three candidates for their specific grade.
The student with the most votes in each grade will be the President, and the next three will be class officers. If you are thinking about running to be class president or officer, you will need to be in good academic standing, have no excessive unexcused absences, be involved in one or more school activities (if you are a senior, then you will need to be in two or more activities), and you must have one reference from a staff member at WRHS.
The student applications open on August 25, and the application will close on Sept. 2 at 4:00 pm. The student voting begins on Sept. 5 and ends on Sept. 9. The announcements on winners will be posted on Sept. 11.
