Why buy bags when you can make them out of T-shirts? Thursday, August 28, KAY club made bags for Harvesters. The members were asked to bring old T-shirts from home so they could use them to craft bags.
KAY is a club that is associated with KSHSAA, the Kansas State High School Activities Association, that goes out of their way to help around the community. They go out a serve Thanksgiving lunches, go plant flowers at nursing homes, but also go and play board games with the elderly. The projects that the club does are chosen by the leadership group among the club, which includes co-presidents, points director, social media directors, treasurer, web-page designers, and other members of the team.
The Washburn Rural High School’s KAY Club gets bigger every year due to the awareness and opportunities it brings to people. It is not just a way to get out of class but a way to make a change in the community and to help those around you who are struggling.
The Harvester bags are the first of many projects that will be done throughout the year. Not only just crafting, but also going out of school and helping wherever people need it. Join KAY Club today to make a change in your community and help others around you.
