New and improved field house coming soon! WRHS has renovations underway near the track, and they are almost complete. They have been working on it for about 4 months now and should be done by the first football game.
Football, track and field, and cross country all use this facility, and it was time for a fresh start. Beginning in May during track season, they started tearing up the inside, which included the lockers, walls, wiring, and plumbing. The track team did not have a field house for the end of their season due to this. The training room during this time moved into the barn between the track and softball fields.
Through the summer, they moved the training room towards the front of the field house so athletes could walk in and out without going through the locker rooms. They also added more lockers on the football side of the field house. They also added showers and vents throughout all the locker rooms. They split the girls/visitors’ side of the locker room into two parts, a boys’ cross country side and a girls’ cross country side, so they both had a locker room during their season.
