At the beginning of this school year, a new attendance system was set in place for students to scan their ID at the start of each class period in order to have more accurate attendance.
The scanning system was created for it to be easier on the students and teachers to take attendance each day. In each classroom, there is a barcode scanner connected to a chromebook where the student can either scan their ID or type in their ID number. Not only do students have to scan into each class, any time they leave the classroom they must scan out to get a pass. They scan their ID and choose the destination, then they either scan into that location once they get there, or scan back into the classroom when they return. This allows the staff to know where each student is and ensures they are not out wandering the halls during class time.
