WRHS Job Olympic Team has a successful visit to Johnson County

The Job Olympics is a competition designed to help high school students with disabilities showcase their business skills.

These students compete and participate in a variety of different events that simulate real-world work environments.

Some of these include interviewing skills, sorting and organizing, and customer service.

The Job Olympics is a really special competition because it helps prepare these students for life outside of high school by practicing their employment skills while increasing confidence and incorporating a fun twist with distributing awards to those who win in their respective category.

Recently, the WRHS Job Olympic Team visited Johnson County Community College to compete with 27 surrounding schools. The Jr. Blues returned home with 5 gold medals, 2 silver, 4 bronze, a 4th-place ribbon, two 5th-place ribbons, an 8th and 9th-place ribbon, and scored a 2nd-place trophy in the post-school category for the second year in a row.

Congratulations to all of the students, Ms. Kester-Niehaus and the competitors!
