Washburn Rural forensics’s team, coached by Tim Ellis and Sean Duff, host their annual forensics tournament this weekend from Jan 31 to Feb 1. On Friday the following events will be featured; Congress and Lincoln Douglas debate (LD). The following Saturday will host all of the IE events under the NSDA. The creative outlook of the team has added special events to their tournament to spark some new interest. “Mystery event” was introduced by the team. This event will be a complete surprise to the performer until they enter the room, it encourages the performer to be creative and fast thinking on their feet. Following that, this tournament will be an opportunity for performers to gain a National Individual Event Tournament of Champions bid (NIETOC). To be able to attend NEITOC, your piece must have at least two bids to qualify. This tournament gives the competitors an opportunity to gain a bid working towards qualifying to the NEITOC tournament. The Blue Streak wishes the teams luck as they prepare to compete this weekend.
