Winter musical

Washburn Rural High School’s Theater department works hard every winter to showcase an outstanding musical. This year WRHS presents “Urine Town: The Musical”.

Directed by Mr. Beasley, this musical comedy imagines a small town suffering from a severe water shortage. This causes an outlaw of private restrooms and requires that citizens must pay to use public restrooms. Written by Greg Kotis, “Urine Town” represents the works of the legal system, capitalism, and politics.

UGC ensemble member Milo Douglas, commented on the progress of the preparation.

“Seeing everyone on cast and crew work so hard gives me high hopes for the outcome, I think we have gotten it  almost as perfectly as it could be. It’s been hard but it’s going to be worth it,” he said. With that being said it seems you can count on a great show so show up to support the WRHS Theater Department. Opening night will take place on Thursday, January 30 at the high school auditorium leading to closing night which will take place Sunday, February 2.
