Senior Kaden Ballard has been lighting it up on the basketball court. Averaging 13.6 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 2.7 APG, and shooting 45% from the field and 34% from beyond the arc. Ballard has been a key to the team’s success this season currently holding a record of 6-2. When asked what has been the key to his success and the team’s success Ballard said, “We’ve been successful when we’re the tougher team. Usually being smaller we’ve gotta find ways to defend and rebound… On offense running our stuff and sticking to our principles”.
Ballard also recently committed to play basketball for the Washburn University Ichabods who are currently ranked the number 1 team in NABC the Ichabods earned 15 of the 16 number-one spot votes. Ballard is excited to suit up for the Bods, stating, “Obviously growing up around Washburn and seeing how my dad has run the program I felt like it would be a good fit. Being able to stay local and join a team of guys I already know and are cool is something I’m looking forward to”.
With Ballard’s impressive skills and dedication, Ballard’s future looks bright on and off the court. As he will continue to lead his team this season along with preparing to go to college to play for the highly ranked Ichabods. Fans and teammates alike can’t wait to see what Ballard will accomplish next.
