From December 10th-14th the Lady Blue Basketball team played in the Desoto Hardwood Classic where they would come in second place.
The Lady Blues were on a roll in their first two games defeating Liberty High School 45-42 and Topeka High 68-44 to advance them to the championship game against the Desoto Wildcats.
The Lady Blues took the Wildcats into overtime but failed to come out with the win as they fell to the Wildcats 56-58.
Although with the tough loss, Washburn Rurals Kate Hinck and Maddie Vickery were named all-tournament players for their performances throughout.
With their most recent win against Shawnee Mission Northwest the Lady Blues advance to 4-1 and look forward to the matchup against Olathe North on January 6th.
