Debate is on a role!

Tim Ellis, the debate coach and a science teacher at Washburn Rural High School, has launched the students on the debate team off to a great start. The team takes home awards at tournaments early in the season. Along with these wins, the debate team has also won multiple division tournament championships at schools such as Blue Valley Southwest, Blue Valley West, and Heritage Hall School in Oklahoma City. Washburn Rural has even qualified a team to a Tournament of Champions in Lexington, KY in June. Please wish all of these talented students luck as they prepare for the National Speech and Debate Association national qualifier in December and the KSHSAA state championship in January.
