The Washburn Rural High School choir program has had a busy and exciting month of October, great performances and incredible opportunities. On October 10th, the Chorale had the opportunity to perform alongside the Grammy-winning ensemble Chanticleer at Kansas State University. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the students, who were able to sing with some of the best vocalists in the world. On October 22nd, they joined Washburn University and several local high schools for a special performance celebrating the retirement of Tony Silvestri, a celebrated choral lyricist whose work has inspired choirs across the country. In addition to these amazing performances, the choirs sung at the annual Fall Concert. To end the month, This Generation, the choir’s advanced group, will sing today at White Concert Hall for their annual Stacey Beaver Scholarship Concert.
