WRHS football is getting ready for their upcoming season looking to capitalize on a phenomenal 2023 season, going 11-1 with their only lose coming in sub-state.
They have a busy schedule to help prepare for the season, attending summer workouts and team camps. These team camps consist of 7 on 7 where everyone, but linemen, will compete against each other in passing plays.
Also, the summer activities consist of team camps where teams compete 11 on 11. Teams will compete in all different situations and aspects of the game except there is no full contact as players will do what is called “thudding” up where players will still hit just not take each other to the ground.
Thanks to different universities such as Washburn University, Emporia, and Benedectine these camps help high school athletes prepare and improve for their fall season. The camps and workouts will last all through June and July, with the season starting in August.
