The foreign exchange program is a program set up and designed to let high school students from all over the world study abroad for extended periods of time. This year, Washburn Rural hosted multiple different students ranging from Germany, France, and Spain.
As the school year is coming to a close, those students explain their thoughts from the overall year.
Franka Morhmann from Germany expresses her favorite memories from this year.
“I loved getting ready for the highschool football and basketball games and taking all the fun elective classes“
She also explained what she is going to miss the most.
“I will miss driving to school in a car because we just don’t do that in Germany”

Reyes Roman from Spain shared her thoughts.
“I will miss all the activities that the school offers and the friends I made here”
Romas adds that the biggest change returning to Spain this summer will be;
“walking everywhere and I don’t have to take the car to go places. I have more independence and I don’t have to depend on somebody to do something in America”
Lastly, Anais Thuot from France shares her favorite memory in America
“Going to Disney world with my host family”
Thuot then explains the biggest difference between living in France and America.
“People wearing pjs to school”
