On Thursday, March 21, two of our student athletes signed letters of intent. Hayden Keller signed to run cross country at Washburn University and Titan Osburn signed to play football at Benedictine college in Atchison, KS.
Osburn was excited about his college choice. “I am looking forward to new experiences and new beginnings that are ahead of me. The biggest thing I will miss are Friday nights, the teammates I grew up with, and the community that I’ve been a part of for so long. My advice is no matter what, trust the process. Just because you aren’t getting the varsity playing time you think you deserve when you’re younger, your time will come and the harder you work the better.
Hayden also was looking forward to his future at WU but also had advise for younger athletes. “The things I am looking forward to most at Washburn is the next level of competition, and indoor track in addition to cross country and outdoor track. Im excited to make new friends, memories, and continue to improve my times. The thing I will most about track in high school is the team culture, we are like a family. My advice to underclassman with the dream to be a college athlete is to not take each day for granted, because not everyday will be a good day.”
They will go on and do great things and we are excited to see what they do after Washburn Rural High School.
