This Saturday, March 2, was the Unified Sports bocce tournament. The black team earned gold, the blue team earned silver, and the white team bronze.
Brooklyn Sipp, the head of Unified Sports, was excited about the day.”Seeing all the athletes and partners from schools across the metro area come together to have a fun-filled day of competing with friends. The joy that comes from Unified Sports is unmatched and it is magical to witness and be a part of,” she said.
She added that the benefit of Unified Sports plays an important role in students’ lives. “Unified Sports is a program that joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.”
If you see any one of the players from this Saturday, congratulate them for being such an amazing player and also being apart of something great.
