The annual Leadership Challenge Event, or LCE, is an organized competitive event that allows students to compete by running through simulations that only unique ideas and teamwork can resolve. This year it was held at Washburn University.
Teams consisting of five individuals will compete over the course of two days of activities. The challenge aims to examine the five practices of exemplary leadership, the concepts of which were studied by the founders of the challenge, Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner.
Last weekend WRHS won first place, with the Renaissance program taking the stage. Lead by Mrs. Lake, Meredith Clark, Ashton Dawley, Anisha Dhir, Katelyn Ebert, and Ryan Soper all worked together to take home the victory. At the end of the challenge, teams were given constructive criticism based on their leadership skills and decision making.
Over 200 students from across the country participated this year, with the competition beginning on March 1, at the Stormont Vail Event Center.
