Last Friday the Lady Blues basketball team defeated Wichita South in sub-state 47-34 to send them to state tournament once again.
Earlier in the season the Lady Blues lost to Wichita South in an overtime matchup ending 44-38. At the end of the first, the Lady Blues only led by three 14-11. Then at half leading only by one 22-21.
However with a surge of offense late in the fourth and freshman phenom Maddie Vickery with a 23 point and 12 rebound double-double along with KU commit Zoe Canfield adding 10 points to the 47-34 win.
With the 50-43 quarter final win on Wednesday over Wichita Heights the Lady Blues now advance too the Semi-Finals to play Derby Friday for a chance to play in the finals for a State Championship.
