Washburn Rural High School will be starting to serve new high quality beef at lunch. This type of beef is preferred by many due to its high-degree marbling which gives it the flavor and texture that many prefer.
According to KSNT news the school is getting the beef from Booth Creek Wagyu out of Manhattan. The school also noted that it is rare for schools to have such a high quality beef for school lunches.
The money was received from a grant by the Local Food for Schools Cooperative which provides the school the opportunity to be able to serve such high quality beef for their students. The school plans to sample the beef this week and if everything goes well, they will plan to begin serving the new beef starting next week during lunch time.
