On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, all of Washburn Rural High School’s basketball teams played Topeka High at home.
This game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 9, but because of weather conditions, the game was rescheduled. The Junior Varsity boys and girls teams played at 4:30 p.m. They were followed by the 9th grade boys game which started at 5:45 p.m. The girls varsity game started at 6:00 p.m.
The final score of the WRHS girls basketball team was 56-26 with the Junior Blues taking the win. The WRHS boys basketball team won 89-65, with the boys jumping out in the first quarter, 29-20. Overall, it was a great night for Washburn Rural basketball. The next game on their schedule is against Manhattan on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 in Manhattan.
