For this week’s Student Spotlight we have interviewed a couple of our boys basketball senior players on their last year at Washburn Rural. We asked questions about their upcoming season and plans later on in college!
First interviewed JC Heim
- What are your thoughts on this upcoming season so far?
- “So far feeling really good, and looking forward to the season and playing with my guys one more time.”
- Name one of the teams biggest strengths this year.
- “The brotherhood and our chemistry is very strong, and the way we work together is unmatched.”
- How does it feel knowing that this will be your last year playing with this team?
- “I am a little upset that this will be my last year playing basketball. But I am looking forward to the season and playing one last time.”
- Do you have plans after high school? College? If so what major or sport?
- “I am planning on continuing my football career in college.”
- What will be one of the biggest challenges for you this season?
- “Being an undersized big, I will really have to box out and use my lower half to get rebounds and finish under the rim.”
- Give some advice for underclassmen athletes.
- “To have fun, and play all kinds of sports. It is important to be competitive and have fun. Playing multiple sports will help you with all sports.”
