The Washburn Rural High School Theatre Department has their first play, Frankenstein. This play has showings on October 26th, 27th, and 28th at 7:00 PM. Tickets run for about $6-$7 general admission. This play lasts around 2 hours with extra time at the end for the participants to come greet their family and friends.
This play is adapted from the book Frankenstein, which is a classic, especially around halloween time and fall. This is a perfect fit for the fall season, nearing the end of October. This is also helpful for honors English 10 classes, who will be reading the book during the year. There was also a teaser during the last hours of the day on Wednesday to get a sneak peak of the play.
Maggie Morse, who plays Agatha, was interviewed about her experience working on this play. “I love being around all of the people. I am new to theatre and everyone is so fun and welcoming. I love getting to meet new people and learning from returning people.” She was also asked about the content of the play: “It is a drama and very dark, which causes it to get slow sometimes. I wouldn’t recommend this play for little kids either, it can be scary. I think this play is worth seeing if you are into dramas and deep, underlying messages within the play.”
