This week, Washburn Rural High School’s Sources of Strength Club has created a “Suicide Awareness” spirit week. Monday was National Suicide Prevention Day, and to raise awareness Sources leaders decided on a week of simple spirit days. For Monday, the theme was “Be Comfortable In Your Own Skin”.
This represented pj or comfy clothes day. For Tuesday, the theme was “Brighten the world” which is represented by a Tie Dye day. On Wednesday, the theme is “Wellness Wednesday ” which is coded for Workout clothes day.
Heading towards the end of the week, Thursday is “Positive Friend” which is represented by matching with a trusted friend or twin day and last but not least is Orange/Yellow day. Wearing these colors means that you are representing suicide awareness. It’s not too late to participate and spread awareness!
