Washburn Rural’s incoming freshmen had something to say about how they liked high school so far. Jaydon Marrot, 14 years old said, “It’s going really good, I like the school for now.”
He explained that high school is better then middle school. He has made a lot of new friends and loves the new opportunities that WRHS promotes. Jaydon is in Circle Of Friends and Black Student Union clubs this year. He plans on getting good grades and staying on top of all his school work. Ian Ketter explains that he enjoys the freedom but of course there are also always rules. “I’ve made a lot of new friends this year” he said. He wants to attend K-State when he is older and play football. Ian’s favorite class so far is science because he has a lot of friends in that class.
Jayda Johnson said, “I think middle school is way better then high school.” She wants to swim and run track this year. She is in Young Life and FFA and loves her teachers and has a lot of friends in all her classes. In the future she wants to become a writer and actually go to a trade school.
Brooke Cuttingham loves the school but hates the drama that has already started sense starting her freshmen year. She said, “There is a lot more freedom here than in middle school, and it is way bigger.” She wants to wrestle this fall and play softball in the spring. She loves her teachers and Speech is her favorite hour this semester. She is also ready for the games and to show her school spirit!
