For our first student spotlight of the year we have chosen senior Lawsen Lobatos. We have asked him some questions based on senior year including his thoughts on the bike ride to school and what he is the most excited for and most nervous for.

• What did you ride on the first day of school? Did you dress up?
  • “On the first day of school I rode a scooter to school and I wore my friend’s green Spongebob shirt.”
• Do you have any other ideas of what you think would be fun on the first day of school like the bike ride for seniors? 
  • “I don’t really have any ideas but like maybe a all senior movie in the auditorium or something like that if I had to add something.”
• List one thing you are most excited for this year and one thing you are not looking forward to? 
  • “One thing that I’m looking forward to this year is my senior year of soccer. And one thing I’m not looking forward to is all the testing and finals at the end of each semester.”
• Are you ready to move onto college or would you rather have another year of high school?
  • “I’m ready to graduate and be done with high school but at the same time it has been a lot of fun and leaving and having to go to college is way different than high school is so I don’t really know.”
• What are your plans after you graduate?
  • “After I graduate I plan on going to college most likely at K-State or possibly KU I haven’t fully decided yet. I am also undecided on a major at this point.”
• What will you miss the most about Washburn Rural?
  • “I think the thing I will most about Washburn is my friends and all the memories I’ve made along the way, and maybe a few of the teachers I will miss.”
