Student Spotlight; Karsyn McMaster

Mia Taggart and Hadlie Brady

For this week’s student spotlight we interviewed Senior Karsyn McMaster on this girls soccer season.

  • What does high school Soccer teach you?
    • “Competing in high school soccer has taught me many values.  It has taught me how to focus on the important things and not to dwell on little mistakes.  It has also taught me how to work with a team to be successful and encourage others.”
  • How do you prepare for your games?
    • “I listen to the same song right before I am about to get off the bus or out of the car.  It is “Lose Yourself” by Eminem.”
  • What do you believe will be one of your teams weaknesses this year?
    • “We lost some really big key players last year.  Everyone is going to have to step up this year to fill those roles.”
  • What advice would you give younger girls wanting to play in high school?
    • “Do it!  The team is more like a family and the coaches are awesome.  I have always looked forward to playing highschool soccer, and you should too.  Also, do not get discouraged if something does not go your way at first, keep working hard and it will pay off.”
  • Whats your best memory from school soccer?
    • My favorite memory is winning the game in the semi finals last year to go to the state championship.  The feeling of winning one of the toughest games we had ever played was awesome and being able to celebrate with my teammates was very special.”
