Medical Marijuana May Be Legalized

The conversation around Marijuana has been debated for many decades, and now in Kansas the debate has become more present. Marijuana in all forms is illegal in Kansas, but many new representatives are pushing for legalization. Chairman John Barker (R) said during the march initial hearing that legislators will review the amendments and then vote later that week. The committee passed the bill in a 13-8 vote. It cleared the House and will now move to the Senate later this week.

This bill is only for medical use of Marijuana. Marijuana has shown to be beneficial for many people who suffer from chronic illnesses, epilepsy, and other medical conditions.

Many representatives plan after the passing of the first bill to propose another one for the recreational use.
